Working as a Language Tutor:

Interested in applying to work as a language tutor? Take a look at some of our frequently asked questions below:

Language tutor recruitment begins about a month prior to the beginning of each semester. Any open positions for the fall semester will be posted in early August. Any open positions for the spring semester will be posted in December or early January. Language tutoring is on hiatus over the summer.

Any open positions will be posted on GMS, which you can access through the student employment website.

Available tutoring roles can vary semester to semester. If you do not see a position for your language by the time tutoring has begun for that semester, there is a good chance that there are no open positions within that language.

While we do add new languages to our tutor offerings, we do so based on conversations with department faculty rather than availability of tutors. If you are looking for opportunities working with languages that the ARC doesn’t offer, we recommend checking in with that language’s academic department.
