Final Examination Reservation Protocol for Students
RESERVATION DEADLINE: MONDAY, DECEMBER 2, 2019
If you plan to take any of your final exams with the Academic Resource Center, please read this memo thoroughly and carefully to ensure that you make appropriate arrangements to take the exams with the ARC. If you have an agreement with your professors to take final exams with them, I would confirm the arrangements with them since the ARC will not accept any test reservations after Monday, December 2, 2019.
PLEASE NOTE: RESERVATIONS MUST BE SUBMITTED NO LATER THAN MONDAY, DECEMBER 2, 2019. LATE FINAL EXAM REQUESTS WILL NOT BE HONORED.
The ARC respects and adheres to the policies established by the Offices of the Provost and Registrar; hence, students must take exams in accordance with the final exam schedule. The ARC will not accept a request for an alternate exam date or time because you made previous travel arrangements, or your professor gave you permission to take the exam on a different date. Hence, if a professor agrees to permit you to take an exam on a different day/time, then the professor will need to administer the exam, not the ARC.
Final exam reservations will be handled through MyARC, so start by navigating to the ARC website. Log onto MyARC and find the tab ”Schedule Final Exams.”
The ARC provides three test administration sessions during the final exam period: 8am to 12pm; 12pm to 4pm; 4pm to 8pm. If the exam start time is 9am, then you will start the exam at 8am. If the exam start time is 12:30pm, then you will start the exam at noon. If the exam start time is 4pm or 7pm, then you will start the exam at 4pm.
Follow the directions outlined on the left-hand side of the test reservation page.
1) Select the course from the drop down menu.
2) Click the alternate date and time link.
3) Enter the date and time of the exam in accordance with the Registrar’s schedule. Also, enter the length of the test (1 hour, 2 hours, etc.) (Do not calculate your test time accommodation when providing the length of the test.)
4) Confirm professor information.
5) Select your accommodations.
6) Confirm your exam date and time.
7) Confirm your reservation by clicking finish.
8) After you hit submit, you can check “My Upcoming Events” to verify that your reservations have been submitted.
Your test reservation will be reviewed by the ARC to verify accuracy in accordance with the final exam schedule posted by the Registrar’s office. If discrepancies in the date and/or time are found, then the ARC will make the appropriate changes and notify you of the corrections by e-mail.
If you believe that you have a scheduling conflict, or an extenuating circumstance regarding a final exam, then you will need to contact Dr. Joe Fisher by Friday, November 22, 2019 to set up an appointment to discuss the possible extenuating circumstance.
If you are not sure how to handle a test reservation, you are encouraged to come to the ARC and consult with a staff member. We are here to assist you.
