Become a Tutor
Tutoring is designed to supplement classroom instruction while helping tutees become engaged, independent learners. Tutors are academic role models, peer coaches, and sources of encouragement.
The Academic Resource Center offers one-on-one foreign language tutoring to undergraduates up through the Intermediate II level. Each tutor and tutee must meet for at least one hour per week and can meet for up to three hours per week. Meeting dates and times are coordinated by the tutor and tutee.
Tutors must be willing to work with three tutees per semester, although since tutors are assigned based on demand, the Academic Resource Center cannot guarantee a set number of tutees or hours.
If you would like to apply to be a tutor, please visit the Student Employment website to check on openings.
Note: All tutors will be required to attend a training session sponsored by the Academic Resource Center.
