About Hoyas Lead
Hoyas Lead is part of Georgetown University’s effort to ensure that participation in intercollegiate athletics is truly a comprehensive contributor to the development of the minds, bodies, and spirits of student-athletes. The office of Student-Athlete Leadership and Development is charged with coordinating resources on and off-campus that facilitate the transition of incoming freshmen to their new roles, assist in the growth and evolution of student-athletes while on campus, and help guide senior student-athletes into the next chapter of their lives. This includes ongoing preparation for professional paths or graduate study as well as an academically-oriented curriculum focused on the theory and practice of influencing others as formal and informal leaders. The office will be a key in-house leadership and team-building resource for student-athletes and coaches. The first director of the program is Dr. Mike Lorenzen, who started at Georgetown in August 2012. He can be reached at ml1281@or (510) 509-5042.
